My Biography

I'm Patrick May, a Larrakia man Grandfather - Clan Murrijabin. Area Tjindi (Peppimenarti) West of N.T Grandmother - Clan Iwaidja. Area Wiwi (Coburg Peninsula) North Central of N.T. I have dedicated to empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. My life's work in various governmental and community sectors reflects my commitment to addressing the barriers faced by Indigenous communities and fostering a connection to culture and land for healing and strength. My initiatives, particularly the cultural activities I create, are designed to bridge traditional knowledge with modern necessities, embodying the essence of cultural integration while navigating contemporary challenges.

Work in Partnership

In this context, I fully endorsed Damien Howard for  his remarkable ability to intergrade cultural sensitivity with effective counselling practices. I've worked with Damien in bringing clients to him to work with on mental health issues as well as engaging in mutual mentoring payment rowing me on western ways and I mentoring him on First Nations cultural ways. We also work as a bicultural team working with NDIS clients with complex needs. We have also collaborated win the creation of a resource "White fella ways".


His work has significantly benefited our First Nations clients, offering a respectful and empowering approach to mental health and cultural identity belongings.  I write to express my full endorsement of Damien Howard's exceptional counselling and cultural awareness. Through his work Damien demonstrates unparalleled understanding and respect for Indigenous social determinants and First Nations cultures.
